Cycle Trip Postponed
2009 was to be the year that I cycled from Lands End to John O’Groats with my youngest son Jack. However because he will be completing his GCSEs I felt that it was best that we did it in 2010.
It will be my third such journey on a cycle from one end of the country to the other. Jack will be 17 and I 55!
We have yet to choose a charity but hope to raise much-needed funds for some deserving cause.
Keeping up to Date
The Health Professions Council (HPC) now audit a number of chiropodists to ensure that they have been continuing training (Continued Professional Development) known as CPD. Indeed it is now a condition for continued registration every two years and your guarantee that your chiropodist is up to date with current thinking and procedures.
I am at the moment studying Infection Control and building my own drug database to help in the speedy recording of patient medicines and identifying their illnesses as a result. I am waiting to begin an HPC certificated course on Local Anaesthesia and Pain Management.
Only HPC registered practitioners are legally bound to undergo such ongoing training.
From Green to Green
My green Jaguar S Type is now spending a well-earned retirement at home, to be used as a family car once more. My new ‘work’ car is a SMART CAR, which is far more environmentally friendly, even though the Jaguar was fuelled by LGP.
The SMART does 60 MPG plus and is in the lowest group for emissions. So when I come visiting you can be sure that my Carbon Footprint will be the smallest it can be.
